Small, juicy, round plum. Green ripening to Amber. Extremely ancient, believed to be a hybridization of the wild cherry plum.
'Green Gages' are said to descend from plants imported into England from France in 1724 by Sir William Gage of Bury St Edmunds, whose staff gave them the distinctive English names.
