'A Glossary of Provincial Words Used in Teesdale: In the County of Durham ' by Frederick Dinsdale (1849) has; "COLLEY, n. A term for bacon, and also for butchers' meat. It is only addressed to children, and used by them. "Tatie and colley" potato and bacon."
