Proprietary savoury biscuits of hard-baked whole wheat paste sticks, c4ins long, ¼ins diameter of a highly distinctive knobbly form, strongly flavoured with splashes of salty yeast extract, similar in flavour to Marmite.

Reputedly devised by their French technical manager J Rondalin, twiglets were introduced by Peek Frean & Co in 1930, initially marketed as a cocktail drink accompaniment. They are now manufactured by Jacob's Biscuits in Merseyside.
