Pershore Plum

A large, red-yellow plum, somewhat sour for eating alone.

The original Pershore Plum was the 'Egg' variety believed to have been grown from wild stock by the landlord of the Butchers Arms in 1833. This has now been superseded by the cultivated hybrid 'Pershore Purple'.
